Bivouac Handgun Course (Live Fire Range)
A Unique Overnight Team Building Experience
The Bivouac Handgun Course is not your typical training program. It's an immersive overnight team-building exercise that combines four (4) handgun courses with delicious meals, campfire camaraderie, and simple on-site lodging.
Course Outline:
Saturday
- 0800-1100: Shooter Evaluations and Fundamentals (150 Rounds)
- 1100-1300: Lunch
- 1300-1600: Movement / Cover and Concealment (150 Rounds)
- 1600-1800: Dinner
- 1800-2100: Low Light / Darkness (100 Rounds)
- 2100-2400: Fire / Friendship
Sunday
- 0700-0800: Breakfast
- 0800-1100: Moving, Cover, and Team Drills (200 Rounds)
Note: We aim to keep the round count low; the total for the course is 600 Rounds. If you have more, feel free to bring them.
Equipment Requirements:
Weather-Appropriate Clothing: Prepare for any weather conditions, rain or shine. We provide covered areas and tables. In case of rain, bring extra socks and boots.
- Firearm Equipment: Bring an appropriate belt, holster, gun, magazine carrier, at least 3 magazines, and appropriate ammunition for your firearm.
- Quality Strong Side Holster: Note that ankle, shoulder, fanny pack, cross draw, or Serpa holsters (unless issued by an agency/department for plainclothes carry) are not permitted for this class.
- Safety Gear: Ensure you have eye and ear protection.
- Comfort and Protection: Consider knee pads or padded pants for added comfort. Don't forget a hat, sunscreen, bug repellent, and optional gloves.
- Personal Coolers: You're welcome to bring personal coolers. Please note that adult beverages are not consumed until after 2100 on Saturday.
- Sleeping Gear: Be prepared for an overnight stay. Bring sleeping gear like a sleeping bag, blankets, pillow, and air mattress. While it's not the Ritz, we provide cots. You can also bring a tent if you prefer.
- Meals: Meals are included in the course.
