Performance Baseline Pistol

Overview

This two-day intensive course is designed to give shooters of all levels a performance-focused foundation in handgun fundamentals and the ability to apply them under pressure. Whether you're new to structured training or looking to push your skillset to the next level, this course will provide you with a framework for measurable, sustainable progress.

Day One: Establishing the Baseline

Day One is all about building a solid foundation. But we’re not just reviewing the basics—we’re breaking them down and rebuilding them with precision and purpose.

You'll get hands-on instruction in the core principles of:

  • Grip
  • Vision
  • Trigger control
  • The draw

Using objective feedback, video review, and individual coaching, we’ll help you understand the why behind each concept and how to apply it with intention. By the end of the day, you’ll have a clear understanding of your current skill level and a roadmap for growth moving forward.

Day Two: Applying Fundamentals Under Pressure

On Day Two, we shift gears and take your foundational skills into dynamic environments. This is where you start turning knowledge into performance.

Key topics include:

  • Stage planning and decision-making
  • Entry and exit efficiency
  • Engagement sequencing
  • Throttle control (balancing speed and precision)
  • Reloads under time and cognitive pressure

Whether your focus is competition, self-defense, or simply becoming a more capable and adaptable shooter, Day Two is about putting your skills to the test in realistic scenarios that challenge both your mind and your mechanics.

Minimum Gear Requirements

To get the most out of this course, please come prepared with the following:

  • A modern, reliable semi-automatic pistol chambered in .380 ACP, 9mm, .40 S&W, or .45 ACP. A backup gun is optional but recommended.
  • At least 3–4 serviceable magazines (minimum 10-round capacity each). The more, the better.
  • A rigid Kydex holster that fully covers the trigger guard (OWB or IWB). No small-of-back carry. Acceptable duty holsters include the Safariland 6000 or 7000 series. No SERPA, nylon, or leather holsters.
  • A sturdy gun belt—either a quality concealed carry belt or a battle/competition-style belt.
  • Minimum of 2 magazine carriers.
  • 1,000 rounds of ammunition (500 rounds per day).
  • Eye protection (clear and tinted recommended).
  • Electronic ear protection (required for safety and communication).
  • We will have a working lunch on the range each day to maximize training time.
  • Water, snacks, and anything you need to stay fueled and hydrated.
  • Basic tools to maintain your firearm, optics, holsters, and accessories.
  • Spare batteries for optics, lights, and other electronics.
  • Appropriate clothing and rain gear—we train rain or shine.

Joint Collaboration

This course is a joint collaboration between Force Solutions and Garrett Neel of RAS Group.

Garrett brings years of law enforcement experience and a competition-proven mindset to the range. Together, we’ve built this course to bridge the gap between fundamental mastery and real-world application—for law enforcement, civilian defenders, and competitive shooters alike.
